Background
Hasan Yucel Basdemir is a Professor in History of Philosophy at the Ankara University of Turkey. His research is focused on comparative epistemology, in particular Islamic philosophers and post-Gettier philosophers, freedom of religion, ethics and politics relation and Islamic political thought. He authored Ethical Foundations of Liberalism (Liberte, 2009), The Problem of Definition of Knowledge in Contemporary Epistemology (Hitit Kitap, 2010) and Politics and Ethics (Liberte, 2017), and edited Religious Freedom and Laicism in Turkey (Liberte, 2011) and Political Ideologies with Bugra Kalkan (Adres, 2017).
