Prof. Dr. Nahide Bozkurt


She graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Divinity in 1984. Afterwards, she was the religious teacher in Ankara Cebeci Girls Vocational High School between the years         1985-1987.

She became research assistant in the Islamic History Department of Faculty of Divinity of Ankara University in 1987.

She graduated from PhD program with her thesis “Period Khalifa Ma’mun and Its Place in Islamic Cultural History” in 1991.

In 1992, she had been to United Kingdom to improve her English and make researches.

In 1996, she became Associate Professor.

In 2001, she made researches regarding her field in Jordan University.

She became full professor in 2003.

She gave lectures at Rome Gregorian University in 2005 and 2007.

In 2007, she had trainings on Interfaith Dialogue in California-Santa Barbara University as Fulbright Scholar.

She is still an academic member of Ankara University, Islamic History Department of Divinity Faculty and director of Ankara University African Studies Research and Application Center.
